Last updated: July 2026
Your privacy is important to us. Viamour is operated by Viamour, LLC ("Viamour," "we," or "us"). This policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use Viamour. It applies to the Viamour mobile app and this website.

When you create an account, we may collect: • First and last name • Email address • Date of birth • Profile photographs • Biography and profile information • Languages spoken • Home country • Travel plans, current and upcoming destinations, and travel dates • Connection preferences and interests • Information submitted in support requests, reports, or feedback You may also choose to add optional profile details, including gender identity, ethnicity, religion, dietary preferences, work style, social style, and social media handles (such as an Instagram username). Some of this information — for example ethnicity or religion — may be considered sensitive or "special category" data under certain privacy laws. We collect it only when you choose to provide it, you can leave these fields blank or remove them at any time, and we process them to help you find travelers who share your interests and travel style. You are responsible for ensuring the information you provide is accurate and up to date.
Identity Verification Information
If you choose to verify your identity, we may collect: • Government-issued identification documents • Selfie photographs • Verification status Identity verification information is used solely to confirm identity, enhance community safety, and prevent fraud. Verification photographs are automatically deleted within 24 hours after your verification request is decided, whether it is approved or rejected. Your verification status may be retained after the underlying documents are deleted, unless a longer period is required by law or an active safety investigation.
Communications
We collect information related to communications made through the Services, including: • Messages sent between users • Communications with Viamour support • Reports submitted about users or content
Automatically Collected Information
When you use Viamour, we may automatically collect: • Device type and operating system • Device identifiers and IP address • Application usage information • Log information and crash reports With your permission, we may also collect GPS location, current city, country, travel destinations, and arrival/departure dates. We use location to set up your profile during onboarding, show you and other members relevant people and community meetups nearby, provide city information, and support safety features such as sharing your plans with a trusted contact. You may disable location permissions through your device settings, although certain features may become unavailable.
How We Use Your Information
We use your information to: • Create and maintain your account • Verify eligibility (all users must be 18+) • Facilitate connections and community meetups • Display profiles to other users • Enable messaging and experiences • Verify identities and improve safety • Process transactions • Provide customer support • Improve and personalize the Services • Monitor and enforce our Terms and Community Guidelines • Automatically screen messages for safety (see "Automated Content Moderation & AI") • Detect fraud, abuse, and security threats • Send service-related notifications • Comply with legal obligations
Automated Content Moderation & AI
To help keep the Viamour community safe, text messages sent through the Services are periodically screened by automated systems for content that may violate our Terms or Community Guidelines, such as harassment, hate speech, exploitation, human trafficking indicators, or solicitation. This screening may include processing message text with trusted third-party artificial intelligence providers (currently OpenAI) acting on our behalf. These providers process content solely to perform the screening on our behalf, do not use it to train their models, and retain it only briefly for abuse monitoring before deletion. Content flagged by automated screening is reviewed by our team before any action is taken on an account. Where content is flagged, we may retain the relevant excerpt, the associated report, and related moderation and enforcement records for safety, enforcement, appeals, and legal compliance purposes. Photos, voice messages, and other media are not currently part of automated screening. Separately, some travel content in the app — such as city guides and city scores — is generated with artificial intelligence from publicly available sources. Generating this content does not involve your personal information.
Information Visible to Other Users
Other users may be able to see: • Your first name • Profile photographs • Biography • Languages spoken • Home country (if displayed) • Current city and travel destinations you choose to share • Interests and connection preferences • Any optional profile details you add (such as gender identity, ethnicity, religion, dietary preferences, work style, social style, or a social media handle) • Verification status • Experiences you host as a Curator The following is never displayed publicly: • Last name • Email address • Date of birth • Government-issued ID documents • Payment information • Private verification documents Anything you choose to add to your profile may be seen by other members, so please share only what you are comfortable making visible.

If applicable law defines "sale" or "sharing" of information more broadly than described here, you may have a right to opt out — see "Your Privacy Rights" below or contact us.

Business Transfers
In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, user information may be transferred as part of that transaction.
Advertising and Analytics
We use analytics tools (such as PostHog) to understand how the Services are used and to improve them. We may also display promotions for approved Experiences and Viamour features within the app. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use third-party advertising networks to build cross-app advertising profiles about you. If applicable law gives you the right to opt out of certain analytics, "sharing," or targeted advertising, you can exercise those rights as described in "Your Privacy Rights."
Identity Verification Data

Documents are deleted as described in "Identity Verification Information" above, unless retention is required by law, an ongoing investigation, or legitimate safety purposes. Users who successfully complete verification may receive a publicly visible verification badge.
Data Retention
We retain personal information only for as long as necessary to provide the Services, maintain community safety, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. Retention varies by category, for example: • Account and profile information — while your account is active • Messages — while your account is active, subject to safety and moderation needs • Identity verification photographs — deleted within 24 hours of the verification decision, as described above • Moderation flags, reports, and enforcement records — retained for safety, appeals, and legal compliance • Certain transaction and billing records — retained as required by law and for fraud prevention We may retain certain information after account deletion where necessary for fraud prevention, safety, legal compliance, or legitimate business purposes.
